Subject: RE: songs about fairies From: GUEST,MorwenEdhelwen1 Date: 02 Mar 13 - 06:02 AM There's also "Thorin Oakenshield's Song of The Lonely Mountain" or "Far Over The Misty Mountains", originally a poem from The Hobbit. Dwarves can be called fairies (if you stretch the definition a bit). I sing this to a variation of Howard Shore's melody in the recent movie. Far over the misty mountains cold, To dungeons deep and caverns old, We must away, ere break of day, To seek the pale enchanted gold. The dwarves of yore made mighty spells, While hammers fell like ringing bells, In places deep, where dark things sleep, In hollow halls beneath the fells. |

Subject: RE: songs about fairies From: GUEST,Big Al Whittle Date: 24 Jan 13 - 10:36 PM When we were childrebn at school the BBC singing together programme did one song called Marianina, about a fairy of that name. we all loved it and to sing it - it was voted the most popular song of that series, There loads of threads about singing together and you will easily able to get hold of the song. Gilbert and Sullivan's opera Iolanthe is all about fairies and there will probably be one or two singing fairy songs If I were you - I'd check with Mum. they might all be watching a current programme about fairies and be expecting all the songs from that. You've been a teacher yourself - you know how cunning teachers have to be to keep abreast with kids latest fads - perhaps fairies is one. My little nieces all love pink fairy things - perhaps there is a fairy tv series running currently. Check out The Wiggles - they are very popular. Do they have any songs about fairies - they are on YOutube. Theres that Don Maclean song - Beautiful baby, or is it Wonderful baby. |

Subject: songs about fairies From: GUEST Date: 24 Jan 13 - 07:23 PM hi, I wondered if anyone knew any good songs for a kids project at school to do with fairies and superheroes. I offered to go in to my sons reception class and do a bit of music with the kids for this theme they are doing soon. Anything with a catchy chorus or join in bit is ideal but I could sing one song for them to listen to also. I can change lyrics if they don't seem too appropriate for school! |
