Subject: Felton Lonnin? From: Paul Murray Date: 02 Nov 99 - 01:34 PM Does anyone have the words for "Felton Lonnin"? It's on Eliza Carthy's "Rice" and I can't make out the words! Paul Murray |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Felton Lonnin? From: Stewie Date: 02 Nov 99 - 10:48 PM It's a lovely little song, isn't it? A beaut tune too. I have not heard the Eliza Carthy CD, so I don't know if this is the version you want. I have transcibed this from an old Danny Spooner record. Given Danny's cockney accent on top of the northeast dialect, it wasna easy – but I reckon I have gotten it fairly right. Anyhow it's my best shot. Perhaps Graham can correct the mistakes. Cheers, Stewie. FELTON LONNIN

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Felton Lonnin? From: Margaret\W Date: 03 Nov 99 - 02:00 AM It's also a devilish set of variations for the Northumbrian smallpipes (not that I suggest anyone tries to sing them!) Music available to anyone who wants it... |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Felton Lonnin? From: Stewie Date: 03 Nov 99 - 05:30 PM Thanks, Wolfgang. Danny's obviously was a very truncated version of that submitted by MMario. |
