I once got some complaints from an elderly neighbor about my habit of plodding out to the mailbox barefooted, even when there was snow on the ground. (It was only 50 or 60 feet out.)

At first I thought it was just nosey neighborliness, but it became apparent that it really did worry her, so I had to get a pair of slippers to keep by the door just for checking the mail.

Unfortunately the first pair of slippers didn't have the same tractive properties as the bare feet, so I did a couple of fairly spectacular ass-plants before getting a better pair. Apparently she didn't see any of those.

"Has anyone ever made a snow angel in the nude?"... not exactly... but

Well, 35 years ago, I was working for a bookstore and living in and taking care of a large, old house the store owners had bought as a speculative thing. One morning I started out the door and it wouldn't open because it has snowed 21" overnight. Couldn't go to work, and was bored... so, that afternoon I wondered what it would like to jump into a snowbank.
The house had a large porch that was almost totally shielded from the street, so I stripped, trotted to the far end of the porch by the isolated side yard, hopped off and leapt (gracefully? no..) into a drift under a tree. It was maybe 2ft. deep.... and I was in it for maybe 8.47 seconds! Sheesh, it was cold!
Curiosity satisfied, I was back inside 15 seconds later! I do NOT understand how those people who jump into icy lakes for charity on Jan. 1 stand it.

Later, I watched some guys go into the park across the street and play football in the snow... (they WERE dressed...but still)

In the early 60s a Dutch dance group visiting Oz staged a ballet in which all dancers were nude. Sir Robert Helpmann (Oz dancer and actor) was asked his opinion of this trend. He said he didn't approve of nude ballet, for the reason that when the music stops....certain parts of the body do not.

A couple of decades or so ago there was a brief flurry of movies in B (or lower) theaters including sequences of nude skiers.

An associate some years back claimed that he "sky dived" with some other members of his skydiving club, nude, into a nudist camp. He was somewhat "modest" (being not himself a regular nudist) about the arrangements or the party the camp held in honor of the occasion, but did comment that

"those straps really HURT!!! when the 'chute opens."

(Maybe he didn't have all his equipment arranged right.)

frogprince -

Even casual users didn't need threads for that, but if you use Google search (for images?) it's a lot harder now. Previously the default was to set "safe search" that imposed a nanny filter and prevented display of many of the ruder (T & A ?) results. You could go into settings and turn off the safe settings, which was often required to get medical information about "sensitive bits," even in the "scholar search" mode.

The option to turn off the nanny filter has disappeared in recent Google toolbar versions, and the filter has become even more restrictive, so we all must settle for results that Google finds appropriate for the kiddies. (But based on what they do still show I'd go elsewhere to find a baby sitter if I had small kids.)

A new accessory that might be applicable here:

Seriously? Dress becomes transparent when wearer is aroused

Since "everybody" is probably going to see anything you post on the web I suppose it's not a big step to wander around town with no concern about how much of you everyone sees.

(There's a link to a brief "video" that claims to show how this trick works. I found the video "incredibly unimpressive" but maybe it would "show more" (of the technology, of course) for those with better video display setups.

The "inventor" says he'd like to produce a version for men, targeted for bankers, that would turn transparent when they lie. My first thought was that politicians would be a better target market, but I suppose most of those could just go naked and tell people they had one of the suits on.

An entire new field of psychotherapy could spring up to help those who can't figure out out to turn their clothes on ...

... - or off.

A very long time ago, I was into a little bit of hobby photography. I had a fairly decent TLR that made nice big (120) negatives, and a can for "home developing, and had made an "enlarger" out of an orange crate and a lens off an old 35mm camera that had stopped clicking.

I considered taking some "sexy pictures" of the ex wife, although she was a little reluctant.

By chance, I flipped through a couple of magazines down at the book shop and noticed that by pure coincidence the XXXXXXX, YYYY "playmate" in the latest issue of one looked exactly like her so I bought my first ****boy, and saved that picture (for a while) instead of taking my own.

(Both the ex wife and the centerfold are now long gone, although the centerfold is fairly easy to find on the web.)

No particular urge since to take any "naked" shots, although I've done quite a lot of "candid" pics "representative of social interacting," including a few that might be a little embarrasing to the subjects, although none that would cause anything worse than a few giggles from others who knew them.

One way to be safe from having your nude pictures put on the Internet as "revenge porn" is to be unattractive enough that no one would want to see your nude pictures. This can be achieved fairly easily by getting old, overeating, not exercising, neglecting personal grooming in every way possible, and having a really bad haircut.

People, take note! Protect yourself against the dangers of Internet revenge porn by following the above guidelines scrupulously.

Raggy.... "Posting naked in England is illegal. If I walked to my local postbox, a mere 200yds away from my house I would be arrested for "causing distress or alarm" at the very least or one or another of a whole host of other offences."

Round these her parts, you'd be off to the loony bin and hopefully before yer pecker froze solid and fell off. Minus a shitload C tonight and a frostbite warning issued for the morrow... ten minutes outside and ya lose ten inches... if yer lucky... >;-)

Not a lot has changed except for the degree of technology. I gather that the immediate response to the Polaroid camera was nudies... and then the scanner allowed all those slides and Polaroids to be copied easily. Add in email and 'sharing' sites and cell phones which can take pics & videos, and it's a wonder that anyone who has ever BEEN nude with the lights on is not online somwhere!
Now it seems many of the 'commercial' porn sites are suffering because there are so many ways to get non-professional (and often better) stuff for free. Many of the younger set seem to be treating being posted as a complement and a turn-on. I suppose that if everyone is naked, a lot of the thrill is lost.... (who really gets excited anymore by those Nudist Colony magazines that I saw a couple times when I was 20 something?)

And if you consider "making it pretty" for your pictures, a warning from your doctor:

Pubic hair grooming injuries on the rise, researchers find

> By JoNel Aleccia, Staff Writer, NBC News

> Whether it's a DIY Brazilian wax or a botched attempt at "manscaping," homegrown efforts to remove the hair down there are sending more people to emergency rooms, new research suggests.

> Pubic hair grooming injuries jumped five-fold between 2002 and 2010, according to a recent analysis of ER visits by scientists at the University of California, San Francisco. The cringe-inducing reports increased most at the end of the time frame, with an estimated 2,500 grooming mishaps a year by 2010.

> And those are just the cuts, burns, gashes, rashes and other unpleasant outcomes that required emergency medical attention, said Dr. Allison Glass, a clinical researcher at UCSF. Those figures are likely a vast underestimate of the true injuries, and a reminder, among other things, of the need for extra care when wielding razors or hot wax.

> "We actually found that 3 percent of all genitourinary injuries were related to grooming practices," said Glass. "I think the message is this is something that general practitioners and urologists should be aware of."

[and a special warning for a couple here]

"The accounts of the reported injuries would make anyone squirm. Suffice it to say that the 17-year-old boy who picked up a razor after smoking marijuana now understands that that was a bad idea."

Smile for the camera.

John

A warning from McAfee:

[Someone] threatening to post your naked pics? Odds are, they'll do it, survey suggests

McAfee
By Helen A.S. Popkin

A shocking number of Americans are completely unaware that the sweetie they're sharing a risqué photo with today could be the vengeful ex of tomorrow … is what I, personally, extrapolated from McAfee's "Love, Relationships and Technology" study, released Monday.

According to this creepy pre-Valentine's McAfee report, one in 10 Americans have been threatened by an ex-partner to post their naughty pics on the Internet. What's more, 60 percent of those who did the threatening actually followed through on this ugly, and potentially devastating Internet thing called "revenge porn."

Something to think about if, according to this survey, you're among the 35 percent of Americans planning on sending something sexy to your beloved this Valentine's Day, via email, text or social media.

LH -

If Richard Nixon ...

There are numerous reliable reports that Lyndon Johnson demanded that cabinet members and newspersons accompany him to the loo where he "enthroned" himself while continuing the conversations/interviews.

(Reports that several people were blinded by the sight are less credible - but only a little less so.)

One craftsperson reported that Lyndon ordered the TP dispenser in his White House throne room relocated at least three times before they got it to his satisfaction. It seems he was quite fussy about that particular feature. Several reporters mentioned that he "liked to explain how important it was" and sometimes interrupted the regular discussions to expound on his theories on the subject.

(Probably when he needed a wipe?)

Got the picture yet?

(Sorry about that.)

Uh...yeah? Is that a problem?

I have a netbook beside the bed, and have never acquired the nightclothes habit. I therefore regularly (though not constantly) post nude. The bedclothes cover what might offend some, and the blu-tac over the camera lens allows for the odd accident (mind you, the body hair....no, let's not go there).

Apologies to those of a sensitive nature, combined with a lurid imagination, everyone else is good to go.

All of us were born naked, and many will die the same, I truly don't understand the problem so much of the world seems to have with a bit of nudity in between. In the interest of good taste popular demand I mostly cover up, though, I know I was never any sort of pin-up, and never will be.

Just in case anyone cares, I have another PC, using which I generally post fully clothed. That one has the blu-tac too, private home and all that.

Wanna guess which one I'm on right now???

Since the appearance of malware that allows someone to turn on your webcam remotely without your knowledge and watch everything you do anywhere in the vicinity of your computer, social networks have confirmed from the posts by those who've used it that a rather large percentage of those with web access ARE TOO UGLY for anyone to want to know stuff like that discussed here.

Since many laptops do have built in webcams (and lots of people don't even know they have one?) it has been recommended that everyone should keep a piece of duct (duck) tape over the "eye" of the cam when not deliberately using the feature.

I don't have a webcam on my computer, but have placed the tape at the top of the screen where one would normally be located, just to be assured of not offending.

Most here should do the same, although we might have a vote on which 'catters should be allowed to have their "eyes" open while posting.

My son wrote a song titled Dad, There's a little phrase called 'Too Much Information'. It all started when I told him I wasn't a virgin anymore. I've been trying to heed his advice...

Joe:
It should never be necessary for a father (or mother) to tell their child that they are no longer a virgin.
With the exception of Jesus the presence of a son does away with the possibility that the parent is a virgin.
