Presumably somebody will now produce the 'actual' guitar in that photo and put it up for sale for some unimaginable sum...

I see that the Guardian article reproduces all the old, boring hokum about pacts with the devil... crossroads... Eric Clapton... blah, blah...

Strangely, this is not the same Third Picture of Robert Johnson Found that was found back in 2007, according to the report.

Authentication of the 2007 picture is unknown, so we'll have to say, perhaps, that now there are 3-1/2 pictures of him.

(Maybe the devil got the rest ...?)

Notes in my records on the earlier (suspected) photo initiated a thread here, at /thread.cfm?threadid=115122&messages=13, and one of the links in that thread appears to be to the "newly authenticated" photo, although the sample at the link has lots of scabs and scrapes on it, indicating that it's a separate copy of the newly reported one, or the one shown has been extensively "restored."

well I am no expert but Pic 3.5 wouldn't get my vote as authentic.
