Ray Cooper, better known as Chopper, will be appearing at The Musician in Leicester on Tuesday 12 February.
Ray released his debut album, Tales of Love and War and Death by Hanging (**** - R2, "masterful" - Spiral Earth) in 2010. Largely self-penned pieces, its very different from his work with Oysterband; sparse, very much in the traditional style (and with plenty of death!). He plays guitar as well of course, but if you're wondering whether one man and a cello would be worth seeing have a look at his version of Ye Jacobites By Name here:
