Quorn, to my taste/buds at least, tastes only of what you add to it.

I am sure it is just as nutritious as the packaging says, and can be made to taste OK, but without help it is as inspiring as the polystyrene pellets it can rather resemble.

I agree but it has the benefits of protein without dead animals and low fat content. I've heard it said that egg is used as a binder so it may not do for vegans. The only real disadvantage is the price.

It's a disgrace and all those involved should be prosecuted. And no, don't sell me this story saying it comes from Europe and it's traceable. That is bullshit! Europe is a big mess and half of it is full of corruption and organized crime and mafia.
Start passing laws to force supermarkets to buy locally and stop risking peoples lives by buying in places where they have no way of knowing where the meat comes from or who is actually sourcing it.

And let me tell you this: YES, IT IS CONTAMINATION. Horse meat nutrition wise is not the same as beef. In some areas it's much stronger nutritionally and it might do harm to some people eating it as beef. Horse meat has twice as much vitamin b12 and twice as much iron!

The Caddy Man, a reataurant between Jedburgh and Kelso in the Scottish Borders, currently has horse steaks on its menu. It also sometimes has squirrel on its menu.

There is (or was a couple of years ago) a Cheval Butchers in Smethwick in the Midlands. I was told it was the only one in the UK. Clearly not.
