Subject: Tune Req: La Jolie Sardane From: Mooh Date: 10 Feb 13 - 11:03 AM La Jolie Sardane, there's a nice jazz guitar rendition by Jean "Matelot" Ferret on YouTube and last.fm but wiki provides nothing. I don't think this is the same guy as the actor Jean Ferrat. Well, this one has got my stymied. Usually a Google search (Google Images often) will find the sheet music. The main melody would be easy enough to write out by ear, though time consuming, but chord voicings will take me longer, and I would still not know about copyright, authorship, etc. If anyone here present knows any source, or is willing to share, I would be greatly appreciative. Peace, Mooh. |
Subject: RE: Tune Req: La Jolie Sardane From: Mick Pearce (MCP) Date: 10 Feb 13 - 11:40 AM Mooh - the original is by Charles Trenet. The sheet music was available on ebay at the moment: La Jolie Sardane but sadly the auction finished in December. You might be able to get a copy via PianoFiles. It's a site I've looked at before but never bothered to find out how to get the score; I think you need to register to contact the owner or download it. You can get a version for SATB here La Jolie Sardane and might be able to infer some chords from that. (Click on the printer icon for a pdf) Two copies of the sheet music are available on delcamp.net: La Jolie Sardane at 3.80 and 6.00 euros. You might also have a look here: La Jolie Sardane. It needs the Sibelius Scorch plugin to see it and I'm on my Ubuntu machine at the moment, so I can't see what it looks like (and I'm not booting my XP machine to check just now). Matelot Ferret was quite a well-known gypsy jazz guitarist. Mick |

Subject: RE: Tune Req: La Jolie Sardane From: Mooh Date: 10 Feb 13 - 12:18 PM Well, that was easy, I purchased a copy through the last link. It functioned much like musicnotes.com The first two links wouldn't work for me but it didn't matter. Thanks again, Mick! Peace, Mooh. |
