Subject: RE: Broadstairs 2013 From: Abdul The Bul Bul Date: 18 Feb 13 - 03:23 PM Well, I also heard that there would be access to camping without a season ticket although I seem to have forgotten where I heard it. Bummer if it's not. I'd do the camping for the late night sessions with Bob but otherwise just dip in for the Wrotham sessions or a the odd interesting'turn'. Al |
Subject: RE: Broadstairs 2013 From: Richard Bridge Date: 18 Feb 13 - 12:07 PM Yep, a few hundred yards further out at CT10 2RL in stead of CT10 2AH. |
Subject: RE: Broadstairs 2013 From: Richard Bridge Date: 18 Feb 13 - 12:02 PM More from the mis-labelled site - and note it's a different school which I think is marginally further out - I'll check that in a moment. "ONLY SEASON TICKET HOLDERS ARE PERMITTED TO CAMP. This is not limited to week long tickets. As long as you have a season ticket for the day/night you camp, you can camp on the site for upwards of 1 night. • THERE ARE NO ANIMALS ALLOWED ON SITE. • All under 18 year olds must be accompanied by adult Season Ticket holders on the same booking form. Unaccompanied under 18 year olds will not be admitted. • All cooking appliances brought on site must comply with all relevant safety regulations. • No fireworks, smoke canisters or other dangerous items. • The campsite is a no smoking zone." I have wondered before what smokers are supposed to do. |
Subject: RE: Broadstairs 2013 From: Richard Bridge Date: 18 Feb 13 - 11:57 AM Yes, the main page shows in Google as 2012 but it's http://www.broadstairsfolkweek.org.uk/ |
Subject: RE: Broadstairs 2013 From: Richard Bridge Date: 18 Feb 13 - 11:55 AM Fuck. But thank you Peter. Tam, last year you could get a daily season ticket (check the programme, pick the day you want) which entitled you to camp (or caravan on the outermost field) I think for the night before and night after. Taxis are very cheap. |
Subject: RE: Broadstairs 2013 From: GUEST,Peter Date: 18 Feb 13 - 06:06 AM Website seems to be updated but somebody has forgotten to update the page titles that display in Google. The campsite opens from 10am on Friday 9 August 2013 and closes at midday on Saturday 16 August 2013. Camping on the Festival site is ONLY available with a Season Ticket. |
Subject: RE: Broadstairs 2013 From: GUEST,VaTam Date: 18 Feb 13 - 04:52 AM Watching this thread with interest as I want to go to Broadstairs, but not the full festie. |
Subject: RE: Broadstairs 2013 From: Richard Bridge Date: 16 Feb 13 - 05:41 AM So what about the rumours of a camping season ticket? |
Subject: RE: Broadstairs 2013 From: Richard Bridge Date: 14 Feb 13 - 05:56 AM I confess to some sympathy with that view. But I might still go. |
Subject: RE: Broadstairs 2013 From: banjoman Date: 14 Feb 13 - 05:23 AM Broadstairs Folk Week is now just a pop festival with a very limited folk fringe. |
Subject: Broadstairs 2013 From: Richard Bridge Date: 13 Feb 13 - 06:54 PM Is there an official website yet? Mr Google is not producing. More particularly, how can I verify a rumour that there is to be an ability for non-season ticket holders to book camping, albeit at a supplement. So long as the supplement was reasonable I'd be up for that (probably). I could camp, do what I wanted to, interfere with the Morris sides I wanted to, go to participative events (if any) if I wanted to and pay any relevant entry, sing in any pubs free from intrusive MOR Americanised electric shit (I like proper electric shit), and even pay for and go to any concerts I wanted to. |
