You could walk over the moor to Holmirth for the festival there on 10-12th May.

For more info see Holmfirth Festival of Folk

I would absolutely love there to be something in Saddleworth! Bernard (my radio programme producer) and I considered having a smaller festival linked to our Sounds of Folk programme (and calling it Saddleworth sounds of Folk Festival), but as we're both retired we really can't afford to set up a festival with absolutely no funds at all.
I did ask the Saddleworth folk Festival committee if there was any possibility of them being able to spare some funds for us as a start-up fund, but I haven't had a reply to date.
If anyone knows of anywhere we could get a bit of money, please do let us know! It would be lovely to do something here again, and we have been offered the Greenfield Conservative Club free for the whole weekend. I miss everybody!!
Ali xx

How about a free session festival? Along the lines of Mr Happys' Easter do in Anglesey. No big stage, no paid guests, somewhere to camp or park for a reasonable fee or free and advertise on here to get an idea of how many will come. I live in hope.
