I'm looking for the lyrics to the song "Singing in the Country" which Caroline Paton sings on "Singing through the Hard Times, A Tribute to Utah Phillips". Couldn't find it in the DigiTrad. Maybe it is known under another title? In the liner notes to the CD it says, "Collected from Olive Woolley Burt by Rosalie Sorrels".

See this thread.

BillD posted lyrics to both songs there.

Thanks, Mark. I cross posted with you. Thought you'd disappeared. Glad you're back.

Thank you very much! One thing that puzzles me in the lyric is the name Memnon. I looked it up on Wikipedia and found ancient heroes and saints, but no reference to music. Does anyone know what it stands for here?
Mark, I enjoyed your contribution on the Tribute to Utah Phillips CD. So many fine songs, so many great people. I got it as a gift a couple of years ago from my wonderful pen-friend, Faith Petric.

Ooops. The lyrics were posted in the earlier thread by Julia Lane.

That's a guess on my part, but it's musical :-)
