Subject: Lyr Add: ME AND YOU AND A DOG NAMED BOO From: Nathan in Texas Date: 03 Nov 99 - 04:15 PM This was a pop hit in the USA back around 1970. The name of the group was Lobo, the name of the song "Me and You and a Dog Named Boo." I believe the singer had some more hits later under his own name, but I forget who it was. I remember to this day The bright red Georgia clay How it stuck to the tires After the summer rain. Will power made that old car go A woman's mind told me that it's so Oh, how I wish we were back On the road again. Chorus: Me and you and a dog named Boo Travellin' and livin' off the land. Me and you and a dog named Boo How I love bein' a free man. Now I can still recall The wheat-fields of Saint Paul And the mornin' we got caught Robbin' from an old hen, Old MacDonald, he made us work But then he paid us for what it was worth Another tank of gas and back On the road again. Repeat chorus Now I'll never forget that day We motored stately into big L. A. The lights of the city put Settlin' down in my brain, Though it's only been a month or so That old car's buggin' us to go You gotta get away and get back On the road again. |
Subject: Me and you and a dog named... From: Magpie Date: 03 Nov 99 - 04:00 PM I've heard this song a couple of times on the radio lately, but Alas, here in Norway they tell you the title of the song first, and then play it. Needless to say, I never catch the titles, and so I need your help. I think the chorus goes like this: ME AND YOU AND A DOG NAMED BLUE (BOO?) TRAVELLING AND LIVING OFF THE LAND ME AND YOU AND A DOG NAMED BLUE and something about how nice it is to be a free man. Anyone recognize this? I'd be sooo grateful: Magpie |
