From my son...I don't knowthis song. Anyone help?

there is a song possibly Johnny Cash or Jim Reeves about 2 men breaking out of prison, one gets stuck on a train line and gets left behind. Its not Folsom Prison Blues. Any Idea?

s&r: JC and JR were opposite ends of the music spectrum when it came to Nashville. Please ask your son for any other info he recalls about the song, otherwise all you're likely to get is well-meant guesses and could-it-bes, unless you get real lucky. No offence.

Sometimes you have an itch at the back of your brain and I think this is the case

Subject: Lyr Add: OH! WHAT IT SEEMED TO BE

Well here's half of the imagined train ride...
no mention of another man

Jim Reeves
Oh What It Seemed To Be Lyrics

It was just a neighborhood dance; that's all that it was,
But oh, what it seemed to be!
It was like a masquerade ball with costumes and all,
'Cause you were at the dance with me.

It was just a ride on a train; that's all that it was,
But oh, what it seemed to be!
It was like a trip to the stars to Venus and Mars,
'Cause you were on the train with me.

And when I kissed you, darling,
It was more than just a thrill for me.
It was the promise, darling,
Of all the things that fate had willed for me.

It was just a wedding in June; that's all that it was,
But oh, what it seemed to be!
It was like a royal affair with everyone there,
'Cause you said, "Yes, I do" to me.

[ trumpet - strings ]

It was just a wedding in June....

On another note...

Johnny Cash did several RIDE THIS TRAIN episodes on TV

coulda been a fabricated twisting of 2 songs??

Give My Love to Rose

I found him by the railroad track this morning
I could see that he was nearly dead
I knelt down beside him and I listened
Just to hear the words the dying fellow said

He said they let me out of prison out in Frisco
For ten long years I paid for what I'd done
I was trying to get back to Louisiana
To see my Rose and get to know my son

Chorus:
Give my love to Rose, please won't you, mister
Take her all my money, tell her buy some pretty clothes
Tell my boy that daddy's so proud of him
And don't forget to give my love to Rose

Won't you tell them I said thanks for waiting for me
Tell my boy to help his mom at home
Tell my Rose to try to find another
'Cause it ain't right that she should live alone

Mister here's a bag with all my money
It won't last them long the way it goes
God bless you for finding me this morning
Now don't forget to give my love to Rose

Chorus:
Give my love to Rose please won't you mister
Take her all my money, tell her buy some pretty clothes
Tell my boy that daddy's so proud of him
And don't forget to give my love to Rose
