Subject: RE: Recommendation and advice required :) From: Gurney Date: 14 Mar 13 - 11:49 PM I'd say that you should frequent as many folk clubs as you can find. I first heard that song from Sean Cannon about 40 years ago. |

Subject: RE: Recommendation and advice required :) From: GUEST,leeneia Date: 15 Mar 13 - 12:25 PM Catters, the sample is of a lone man, probably 'of a certain age' singing 'The Galway Shawl' while accompanied by guitar and mandolin. He is not a trained singer, but his voice is pleasant to listen to, and he sings in tune. Surely British Isles catters can supply the names of men currently doing that sort of music.... |
Subject: RE: Recommendation and advice required :) From: Gurney Date: 15 Mar 13 - 04:16 PM I was wondering at the conspicuous silence too, Leeneia. I used to know of dozens of singers in that vein when I lived there. I found them by going to clubs, and so I suggested that Guest does the same. 'Irish' pubs too. |
