I'm looking for someone who could write a piano score to my music so I can publish my original material in a book. I'm only looking for the melody line and the cords. I have tried several software packages and have not been able to create my own score. Someplace I remember reading about someone who would write a lead line score for $25 per song. If you are interested, please write me a storymanlloyd@charter.net

A melody line with chords and a piano score are two very different things. A score is rather complex, and one needs a bit of training. A lead sheet(melody and chords) is pretty easy though-the software packages often allow you you use the computer keyboard like a piano keyboard, so you can play the tune, even just a measure at a time, and after a bit of trial and error, you'll have what you want.

Just to take Stim's good points to a little more level of detail:

When you say "chords", do you mean chord names placed underneath a melody line scored in standard musical notation? Or do you mean piano chords also written in standard notation? Or both?

Also, does your request mean that you need someone to work out the chords for you - or do you know the chords and just need them formally notating? There's a whole big difference in these things - the first option would take far more work.

What software packages have you tried? I use Harmony Assistant, which allows music notation, tablature and chords to be combined and printed/exported.

Hello, storymanlloyd. Is there a university with a music department near you? Perhaps some music student would be interested in making some money by transcribing your music. You would need to record the songs for the person to listen to.

When my church needed a pianist, we found one by contacting the office of the Music Department at the local university. They posted a notice for us, and a student was interested. Three years later, we still have her.
