Released today! This is a gorgeous set from June Tabor,Iain Ballamy, and Huw Warren. All recorded live in England w/o ANY audience noises or applause.Thoroughly symbiotic performances. My album of the year 2013- (so far).

It *is* a nice enough album in typical June Tabor style. But I wonder why they needed seven years to find a distributor for it.

Just one listen so far and it is a very different album to Ashore with the piano and sax the only backing. Any fears that this would mean a lack variety have been firmly dispelled by the amazing playing and variety of songs. I think this a really majestic and passionate album. I'm looking forward to a few more plays to get better aquainted. Up there with her best I think.

So expertly recorded by the perfectionists at the new label.I wonder if this means there will be fewer recordings from Topic?I have immense regard for the Topic label as well.

Would anyone care to explain or comment on the sound of the saxophone in certain places ? Are the unexpected noises faults ? Do I hear errors in playing technique, errors in recording technique or is it errors in my listening technique ?

Having asked those questions, this curate should note that there is some lovely music on the CD.

Might it have something to do with the fact that this is a live recording?

I also really dislike the mic'ing of the sax. It sounds distorted: you'd expect a little breathyness but here it sounds like static interference. Not up to ECM's usual sound quality... wonder if that's why it took so long to come out?

I really do like this recording.I am able to put up with a few sonic quirks just because it's such a fine selection of material and presentation.Number one on the UK folk chart and number four on the UK jazz chart today.Bravo.Maybe now, some label will see fit to release the "Daughters Of Albion" show on cd?

I wonder if I'll ever see a follow-up cd from this trio.

Well, it's been a while, Azoic, but the answer is now "Yes." ECM lists an April 28 release for "Nightfall."

Some detail here - http://www.soundmedia.ch/detail/index/sArticle/1022685

"Advance" copies are available in the usual places, if you know what I mean.... ;-)
