I just discovered this list of Canadian folksongs. Mostly field recordings. Great stuff.

Am I missing something? All I found on that link was a recording of someone singing Wade Hemsworth's Land of the Muskeg. The singer isn't identified. It didn't sound like Wase Hemsworth.

My mistake. I listened to a YouTube recording of Wade Hemsworth and it's the same voice as the video posted by Meself.

You get the full list of "Canadian Folk Songs" to the right of the video screen.

The 'youtube' screen, that is.

It seems the trick is to find the videos posted by banjerholler.

Maybe there's something different happening on my computer? For me, the whole list of banjerholler's videos (30 in total) appears on the right - no trick required. Is that not happening for other people?

On my iPad, with the original link to "Land of the Muskeg" the "related videos" column displayed about ten "truck versus mud" videos for every Canadian song video. I see that most of banjerholler's postings have less than fifty hits. Maybe Mudcat can help his channel go viral. D'ya think?

I am missing something. Who is banjerholler?

banjerholler is the youtube handle of someone who has posted many Canadian folk songs there

Aha! So, a GUEST. Hmmm... I seem to recall the name now but that may be a psycho... ahhh... somatic, no... induced, no... anyway, I am psycho in some manner. Especially on Mondays.

Okay, I don't know what's going on - I'm not talking about the list that runs down the page right of the comments, etc., with the 'truck vs. mud' vids.; I get a list of 30 vids right beside the youtube screen, all from banjerholler. And the second link I provided gives me the full 30 vids without the youtube screen. Maybe it's because I'm signed-in to youtube? Anyway - I give up.

Okay, maybe I don't give up: try this link: When the Shantyboy Comes Down   - I think you'll find the 'related videos' more closely related.

The "related videos" section is irrelevant. The original link references both an individual clip and a PLAYLIST (which should appear to the direct right of the video, and which is separably scrollable from the rest of the page. It's the playlist under discussion.

Also, note Bob's clarification that Banjerholler is a YouTube handle (user name), not a Mudcat user name. Presumably, Banjerholler posted both the clips and compiled the playlist, though playlists commonly contain clips that the compiler did not personally post.

Thank you, Artie; your explanation is much clearer than mine - maybe people can start listening to the clips now ... ?
