I'm visiting relatives in Bethesda* all week and I'm bringing my guitar. Can any area Catters recommend open mics or jam sessions Tuesday-Saturday? Thanks.

*Technically, Garrett Park, but it's so small nobody's heard of it.

Nawww... we live 10 minutes from Garret Park, and sometimes go thru it to get to other things)

Here's the FSGW website. (A number of the locals are leaving Friday for a music weekend in West Virginia, and it's a hectic week of planning)

the paper newsletter says there is folk club meeting in Reston/Herndon, VA on Tues, but it doesn't look very 'participatory'.

If you have transportation, the best bet looks like a "Folk Hoot" on Thursday in Mt Rainier-3111 Rhode Island Ave., from 7-9PM, led by Bruce Hutton. (call Bruce at 301-802-7669)- Bruce has been a mainstay of the local folk scene for 40 years.
