We're not short of a song or two about the canals in the NW. These are all, of course, recently written. |

I think the BBC Singing Together team were a litle bit 'twee' sometimes, but nonetheless my ashoolchildren enjoyed this particular pamphlet. I remember a picture of the lad's narrowboat, with castles and roses painted on the side. All the songs on it were about waterways and the river. Another one was 'The river is up and the channel is deep, the wind is steady and strong...' which is not of course about canals. If anyone is a Singing Together Geek (I know there are several on Mudcat) they might know which year it was. It was in the late seventies or early eighties. |
