I have mailed out cds lately to Sandy Hook and Hurricane Sandy families. I really need an address in Beslan, Ossetia, Russia...they are one of the most important groups..there is a Red Cross Rehabilitation Center..I could probably just address it that way but I don't know if they have zip codes etc..does anyone have a contact?

Also, I keep copying more for other needs..what I would like to do is to give other people copies (not the pretty copies, just the Costco copied at home copies) so that they can further copy and send on..foster children, abused children, homeless etc. I realize not all would have cd players, but some one and in most places in USA some can be found for free...also Stewart has set up a place for people working with needy children to download for free.

Singers have waived copyright so it is OK, and hoped for, to copy these and get them out. Especially after a disaster, time is pretty crucial.

I have a NJ address for sending them for hurricane sandy kids, but not NY..if anyone has it please provide...

Thanks to everyone who was on it. It is not quite done..has no cover..several songs to be added...but it is good enough to get distributed. It is cheap for me to copy at home and mail media mail in US...if others want to copy a batch on their own cds (probably $10 if you are lucky, $15 I think at Costco..) let me know. I will be having prettier disks in the future via lightscribe but I haven't done those yet. mg

My son suggested an organization, but it seems to be involved in fundraising. http://onefundboston.org/ I'll let you know if I come up with anything else.

i think it is important to get them out as soon after a trauma as possible and i have failed miserably with the hurricane sandy situation...but i have some at least i can send and have hundreds of blank cds on order that i hope will be ok ...if anyone has contacts for hurricane sandy let me know..i might have something and might not. also if you know of needy children who have ipods or whatever there is a way to download from afar.

mg, my son works in a town right next to Boston. I've sent him an email asking if he has any ideas. If he does, I'll get back to you.

I can get around 40 home-copied on my computer, in plain paper sleeves to Boston if anyone knows any place that needs them....they are for exactly this purpose...for children but also for any trauma survivors I think...if you give me an address and can check if they can actually use them (Iam stealing them from the ones that were going to New York Hurricane Sandy) let me know...

I can also send a copy to anyone who is able to copy them at home and distribute them. There are no copyright issues if done for this purpose. About 15 songs at this time, a few more to be added.

And I can always use tons of new cd-r 80 minutes..especially if you live in Seattle and can get them from freecycle, cleaning out your office etc. I will probably be at song circle in seattle this coming weekend. I can whip these out pretty fast. I also have lightscribe, thanks to a generous person here..I have not started using it yet because I am told they take about 15 minutes per cd and I can do a regular one in 3 minutes. But lightscribe cds are also OK.
