Is this supposed to be funny?

..or to trivialise a genuine horror?
Motivation?

Or to trivialize and have fun with a thread title, which every time I glance at scans like. "Explosions at Boston Market" I didn't realize that in some minds thread titles became the reality.

We must be careful not to abuse this awesome power.

Yes! If trivialize we must then trivializing of the events with bickering over the definition of the word "islamist" and where Greg F should stick what all under the title "Explosions at Boston Marathon" is the obviously preferred way to go.

You know me. My motto is 'Anything for a joke.' but even I know that is a terrible title for a thread.

I can very often see the humor in things most people would be horrified by, but living 2 hours north of Boston and having had several close friends in the immediate area of the finish line on race day, this is not one of those time. Sorry, Jack.

Again, not laughing at the disaster. Maybe nervously laughing at the thread title. The explosions are old news. The old news is that they were bombs. Maybe laughing at clicking that thread and seeing no Boston talk, no explosion talk, no marathon talk. Just the same Mudcut usual suspects engaging the the same bickering. Are you saying don't find that disrespectful to the people of Boston but you do find this disrespectful. OK. I repeat. Not everything is meant to be funny.

1. A few days ago, somebody started a thread about people who must always be right. That thread turned into an ugly wrangle with Jack the Sailor one of the wranglers. Regular catters left and the thread died.

2. Later Jack started a thread about being around the campfire with everybody being mellow and friendly. One person added one post to it, then catters let it die.

3. Today Jack posted this angry thread.

Do you see a certain emotional logic to all this? I do.

Jack, you're digging yourself ever deeper into a hole. Stop digging mate is my advice...
