I would assume it was a one word post sent in order to keep the thread from dropping off the list, or to mark a point in that thread for subsequent searches.

Bonk is a cyclist's word for heat exhaustion.

Bonk basically means the same thing as boink. It is an expression used by humans to trivialize the act of sex. No Chimp would ever be so vulgar...well, unless he was still a Bush Ape, that is. Bush Apes tend to be a bit coarse in both speech and behavior. No APP candidate has ever been heard to say that he (or she) had bonked someone or was thinking of doing so.

When I was small, one could suffer a bonk on the head if you got in the way during rounders. I sometimes used to thump my younger sister and she'd whinge to our mother that I'd bonked her. Innocent times!

Radek Bonk was drafted third overall by the Ottawa Senators in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft, the first forward selected. He returned to Las Vegas for the first half of the 1994–95 season while the NHL was shut down by the owners' lockout[2] and registered 20 points in 33 games. His debut NHL season of 1994–95 was somewhat disappointing, and Bonk scored only 3 goals and 11 points in 42 games. His progress took some seasoning in his first five years of NHL hockey before he emerged as one of the league's most complete forwards by 1999–2000.[2] He went on to play for the Senators for 10 seasons, eventually becoming the team's #1 center under the tutelage of head coach Jacques Martin.

A bonk is a good shag. Failing that, it is a condition well known to cyclists which develops shortly after one has acquired "hunger knock". The symptoms are a raging thirst accompanied by light-headedness and sudden weakness and tremor in the arms and legs. The inability to grip the handlebars properly any more is a good sign. You have gone on for too long without adequate intake of food and drink. The only solution (which makes you feel like shite but which at least allows you, after a few minutes, to continue with your ride) is to consume a pack of glucose tablets (or a half-packet of chocolate Hobnobs) washed down with a pint of tea or Coca Cola. Bonk for a cyclist is no joke, and should be avoided at all costs. 'Tain't good for you to have your blood sugar zooming up and down in that manner.

Stunned silence at the table!

When I was a child, a favourite uncle came up with what we thought a very funny joke:

What goes 99 bonk! 99 bonk! 99 bonk?

Answer: A centipede with a wooden leg.

Over this-a-way, in the running community, it means to hit a wall on a long run, short of nutrition, hydration or proper training.

I first encountered the term as a naughty one in the movie "Four Weddings & a Funeral", where it was given a stupid explanation which was supposed to be funny ("like tennis - but with bigger balls" - huh? Or was it ping-pong? Anyway .... ).
