fed up beyond endurance with fasthosts. so reluctantly, I've tipped them the black spot. I've no website anymore.

If you decide to spring back, try Weebly. It's what I use for the Folk Police site and it's great to use.

Alternatively you could use Tumblr. Again it's clean and easy and has the advantage of being totally free.

Many thanks for your great generosity Will. To be honest, I was feeling that the website was a pretty pointless exercise.

No worries, Al - let me know if you change your mind. My own site gets thousands of hits - but that's probably because I have a page of free music, chords and tab for a few hundred tunes!
