We are proud to announce the arrival of Out Of Reach - an album made by musicians who meet in Cambridgeshire pubs and play tunes every week. The sole purpose is to raise funds for Cancer Research UK

The brainchild of Danny Gallagher, who lost his wife to cancer a few years ago, this is an album of mostly English tunes (with a couple of songs) recorded in my studio in one afternoon. With no excessive rehearsal or arrangements, it has some of the rough edges and raw energy of a live session whilst having much better sound quality than if we'd actually recorded it in the pub. It's also crammed full of good tunes!

Available for on line purchase - see the web site at www.outofreach.org.uk for full track listing, info about the musicians and the story behind the album.

We don't make a penny out of this - once pressing costs have been covered, all of the £10 purchase price of each CD will go to Cancer Research UK. Please consider supporting a good cause.

Update with news on "The Out of Reach" Project

There were some serious errors on the tray card, which we've now had reprinted and all the CDs not sold yet are now repackaged with the corrected version. There's still a small error in the booklet where the descriptions of tracks 7 and 8 are the wrong way round but we'll have to live with that.

Lots of enthusiastic comments from people who have got it: see the Reviews page. We have a full magazine review too, but I'm not putting that on the web site until after the printed version is published.

For musicians who want to learn the tunes and can read music, you can now download them all (ABC and printable PDF files) for a small charge which results in a further £2.00 donation to Cancer Research UK.

61 CDs have been sold via the web site, and many more in direct cash sales directly to friends, colleagues etc. I believe we've raised over £400 for our target charity already, and there's potential to make that over £4000 if we sell every one.

Once again: www.outofreach.org.uk for full story of what it's about. Please consider helping us to help a good cause.
