Subject: Crucianelli Accordion From: Dave the Gnome Date: 06 May 13 - 12:13 PM I think, well I hope, I just got the musical bargain of my lifetime. In a junk come antique shop in Barnard Cast;e I spotted a 48 bass accordion - the 48 being 4 columns of 12 - or 12 rows of 4 if you prefer :-) I gave it a few squeezes - Bellows are as tight as they need be. All the reeds seem to work. Up the dusty ends they are a bit creaky but probably just need a clean. No couplers but the keyboard side seems to be 2 sets of reeds tuned quite 'wet'. Anyway - Guess how much? £40! It was £45 but had one broken strap and no case so she knocked a fiver off. Well chuffed. DtG |
Subject: RE: Crucianelli Accordian From: Dave the Gnome Date: 06 May 13 - 12:16 PM Just reading up (pun intended) and it could be 3 sets of reeds tuned musette. Not opened it up yet but will do sometime. D. |
Subject: RE: Crucianelli Accordian From: Dave the Gnome Date: 06 May 13 - 01:31 PM This gets better and better :-) An accordion strap I happened to have lying about (don't ask!) fits perfectly. Better still - Stupid as I may be in not noticing in the first place - I just found the coupler on the edge of the keyboard. 1, 2 or 3 sets of reeds. Really must learn to play it properly one day! Cheers DtG |
