I flag this up again as I know a couple of folks from Mudcat were interested in entering the competition.

Because of the commitments of the helicopter crews, they can't now be present at our Folk Weekend at Sutton upon Derwent, Yorks, May 31st to June 2nd. But I will upload any entries to YouTube or SoundCloud so they can be judged by the crews at their leisure before the event. During the concert we would then announce the winner.

If you want to enter you can upload your entries yourselves or send me a CD. Email details are in the attached link.

The winner will meet the crews, be shown around a base, and will experience how the Helicopter Heroes TV programme is made at some date to suite operational requirements.

I have now uploaded another entry for the competition. That's two so far, and two more already written and waiting to be recorded.

You don't need to live in Yorkshire to enter an anthem or song. We are not judging performance or recording quality. Could you compete with these?:

I don't see why not, Mike, as long as it's not too much of a rip-off of the lyrics too. But I'm not the judge. I have no idea what the YAA crews might think is acceptable.

I have a sixth entry that I haven't received as recorded yet, but I have heard it live. A very sweet song. Should have it uploaded to YouTube on Thursday.
