Oh, too bad! I hope next time things go smoothly--though I probably still won't be able to come from the US.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, Pete and I have come to the sad conclusion that we'll have to cancel this event. Too many obstacles this time around.
However - if there are songwriters in the area who would be interested in the formation of a songwriters' circle (or some such name) please let me know, either on Mudcat or Facebook or via my website - and if you would like to attend a future joint concert featuring Pete and myself then please let me know that, too. We'll be back!

Anne

Sounds like it will be a very good workshop, finishing the evening off with a really good concert.

It's interesting because the names on the list at the moment (and yes, there are some, but not enough yet) are all unknown to me personally and have not come via the 'Cat or Facebook. They've picked up leaflets.
Just need more of them! And I take your point and will start visualising, now that my head has stopped turning cartwheels without me (just been through a nasty bout of viral labyrinthitis).

I know what you mean, Anne. Susan and I put an announcement out on facebook awhile ago for an event. Most of the replies were from people saying why they couldn't be there. That, for me, set up a negative vibe even before the show. My above comment about visualize smiling faces came from Michael Hough, part of the US duo Mustards Retreat (who were doing the event with us). We had done publicity and so did they. And, when the time for the show came, the room was full of smiling faces. They just hadn't responded on facebook. So posting can be a necessary evil, but you can't take a lack of response to mean no one cares or is going to come. At least I'll send positive vibes your way.

Thank you, Phil - if only there wasn't an ocean between us, eh?!

Susan and I would go, if we weren't in the US. I've always found the introductions of your songs and how they came about to be fascinating, Anne. So I hope you and Pete will visualize a room full of smiling faces and put that cause in the universe.

Hi Anne

So sorry that we can't get to your songwriting/concert - we'll be on our way back from Ireland then.

Hope all's well with you both and catch up soon we hope.

Please keep us in the loop for any songwriting S Wal;es group.

I'm taking Fisherman's song with me to Ireland - it's Maritiame Fest.

Carole xx

Sorry - didn't mean to sound huffy but I was surprised at how fast the message disappeared from the list of threads!
I should possibly add here that if you're in the UK but bothered by the distance there are good and reasonably priced b&bs very near the venue - in fact, one pub is within walking distance.

You've got fans on Mudcat. In my case, I am in the US and unable to get to your workshop.

Good grief - talk about dropping like a stone off the list! No Pete Morton fans on Mudcat? None of my friends and fans either?

On June 22nd, Pete Morton and I will be running a day's songwriting workshop, followed by an evening concert. This will be just west of Abergavenny, in the very lovely hamlet of Llanwenarth, in their very lovely village hall.
Numbers limited for the workshop, so let us know soon if you'd like to join us - all welcome for the concert. Cost: £30 for the workshop (with concert included) - this also includes refreshments during the day and a buffet lunch. £10 for the concert, including a glass of wine or tea, coffee, juice etc.
Full details on the eflyer which can be found at my website or from either Pete or myself.
Hope some of you can come ... I know the date will clash for some of you, but it can't be helped!
I'm hoping that the songwriting workshop might lead to the formation of a South Wales songwriting group, so if you can't come to the event but would like to be kept in the loop for that please let me know.

Anne
