Subject: Sandwich Folk and Ale 2013 From: Richard Bridge Date: 21 May 13 - 07:01 AM I thought there had been a thread about this but I cannot find it. Dates are 12th to 14th July, and the gig lineup looks pretty good (can be found on facebook) but I can't see anything about the fringe or camping or caravanning. Can someone please enlighten me? |

Subject: RE: Sandwich Folk and Ale 2013 From: Richard Bridge Date: 23 May 13 - 05:03 PM The nearest campsite seems VERY dear and the fringe seems to be an very unknown quantity - no programmes until you get there and buy one. All a bit of a mare to go on spec. |

Subject: RE: Sandwich Folk and Ale 2013 From: Richard Bridge Date: 08 Jul 13 - 06:57 AM I set out below an exchange between me and the organiser - it looks as if there In't much in the way of sessions with songs, this year, and indeed perhaps not much interest. Anyone know where the mixed sessions will be? Exchange follows: - "Richard Bridge Where are the sessions Friday night and Saturday from noon till midnight? Sandwich Folk & Ale Festival Hi Richard, if you look at the fb page and scroll down the sessions are mentioned. Cheers ! Richard Bridge I see three short sessions. Traditional (ish) song with Simon Dundas from memory 5 to 7 on Sat, some diddly Irish which interests me not at all, and Kerry and Mandy (who are fun) with Shanties (which are fun) after I will have left on Sunday. Surely there is a pub (or there are pubs) like the Good Intent in Rochester where during Sweeps festival there is a mixed session pretty well 24/7 (and something like 45 barrels of real ale too) - isn't there?" |
Subject: RE: Sandwich Folk and Ale 2013 From: Richard Bridge Date: 08 Jul 13 - 05:33 PM Hmm. That looks (on the information so far) like a wasted weekend and one to take off the list for next year. |
