Martin Nesbitt, singer songwriter and all round good guy and based in Saltburn, North York's sadly passed away on the 16th May 2013. Martin will be known by many folkies in the North East of England for his great comedy song writing and delivery. Martin was very involved in the Saltburn Cons Club running the very popular Saltburn Open Acoustic Platform, (Soap) encouraging many up and coming singers to show their stuff. Martin's funeral will be held on 28th May 2013 at St Bedes Chapel at Teesside Crematorium at 10am….RIP Martin.

So sorry to hear this. Martin was a really lovely man - so generous and kind hearted and so committed to his music.

My deepest sympathy to his family and friends.

Few years back dropped in on Martin playing with the Scratch Band in Hinderwell nr Whitby. A truly unforgettable day, never laughed as much for so long, a remarkable talent RIP Martin

This was indeed very sad news . Martin was always very welcoming at the Saltburn Open Acoustic , he always encouraged everyone and always with a smile, He will be sadly missed, thanks for all the laughs and friendship. Thoughts with family.

Hi I've only recently come across Martin Nesbitts songs and am so sorry to hear he passed away earlier this year. I heard a song of his sung in Whitby but can't find the lyrics anywhere to The Mechanical Man, can anyone help me out and point me in the right direction please? :-)

There are lots of videos of him singing on Youtube, including that one.
I expect you can work most of them out for yourself.
