Subject: Lyr Req: Swans From: Old Grey Wolf Date: 22 Jun 13 - 12:10 PM Does anyone know the rest of this song, or its title?: "There is a stream where the swans do glide, I go there every day, and watch the last little one lag behind who has not felt that way" I taped it from the radio some years ago and have since mangled the tape. It was sung by a group with a fairly fast, lively tempo. Thank you. |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Swans From: Q (Frank Staplin) Date: 22 Jun 13 - 12:25 PM Down the stream the swans all glide, It's quite the cheapest way to ride. Their legs get wet, Their tummies wetter; I think after all The bus is better. Spike Milligan. No? |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Swans From: GUEST,Old Grey Wolf Date: 04 Jul 13 - 03:20 PM I've un-mangled some of the tape to be able find this - does it ring any bells with anyone? White Swans on the River There is a stream where the swans do glide, I go there every day And watch the last little one that lags behind who has not felt that way And if its time to fly, to fly, its time to fly, to fly Hey swan, which one, that's to fly, that's to fly today. Chorus White swans on the river, the river's running to the sea If God gave me a pair of wings I would fly away, I would fly away Unkind sadness is more or less, a now and then thing So if I float on a happy note xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx Since you life has crossed with mine and I sure could use some of your time Hey, hey which way shall we fly, shall we fly today And one morning I will awake to find they've flown away A south direction will carry their white wings, the winds will carry their white way Xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx Hey swan, which one, that's to fly, that's to fly today. Thanks, Ralph. |
