But how come there is another similar set of lyrics ?

As sung by certain Welsh singers.

I'm not sure about the lyrics you mean, but I know of a set written by a fisherman / singer on Grand Manan Island in New Brunswick. He basically wanted the song to reflect his line of work (fishing). Perhaps the Welsh singers did the same?
