My friend has just returned to Baltimore after several years of living in Toronto, where he enjoyed being a member of several song circles. These were regularly scheduled evenings with groups of people who love to sing harmony and who each take a turn leading the group in song. If know about anything like that in Baltimore, please speak about it here if you feel comfortable doing so, or send me a private message.
Joanne Crabtree (Balladeer)

I was not a guest but a real member posting from Mypod, under my real-world name. Can you help me help my friend? (A truly wonderful human bean btw) ... Balladeer

Mudcatter Severn Savage runs a singer's circle once a month in Baltimore. His Mudcat name is Severn. Send him a personal message and I'm sure he'd be more than happy to give you the particulars!

Do you mean Baltimore, Maryland or the Baltimore an hour east of Toronto. Baltimore, Ontario has a neat little shop run by Steafan Hannigan and Saskia Tomkins that hosts house concerts, sessions, jams, lessons and many more folky events. The nearby towns of Port Hope, Cobourg and Grafton have many folk gatherings including a shape note group. The Shelter Valley Folk Festival is held near Grafton, a 20 minute drive from Baltimore.

A regular sea chantey sing convenes at the Wharf Rat in Fells Point the 2nd Wednesday of every month (go to ships company.org).   The Baltimore Singers Club has been around for awhile and features many of the same singers but with a different focus.

Cheers,

Wotcha
