Subject: RE: Lyr Req: New Zealand stuff From: Jack Campin Date: 29 Jul 13 - 03:43 AM It was written by a man. Maori is one of the easiest languages in the world to pronounce. Just do the original. http://folksong.org.nz/pokarekare/ |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: New Zealand stuff From: Gurney Date: 28 Jul 13 - 11:15 PM Try Kiwifolk.com where there is a comprehensive list of NZ songs. The song was written in Maori, or by a Maori lady, anyway, so everyone sings it at least partly in Maori. |
Subject: Lyr Req: New Zealand stuff From: GUEST,Chord strangler sans cookie Date: 28 Jul 13 - 10:40 PM I have been asked by a dearly beloved friend of mine to play at her Pagan wedding in a circle of prehistoric stones on the wild west cost of Ireland in a few weeks time. She is marrying a Maori man and she has asked if I could source an English version of Pokakare ana. The stuff I have found on google is fairly rubbish. Do any of you Catters have a decent translation I could sing. I would be eternally grateful for any help...regards....M |
