I felt his knee getting tore up before he got hit. I knew he wasn't getting up but I held hope it wouldn't be as bad as it looked... until the slo-mo replay. But hey, it's a contact sport. He'll be back next year.

I got Saints by three or less (3.55). I got Seahawks by three or less (3.40). Big money to be made this week but, as always, it's risky if ya wanna make coin. Of course, the injury reports tomorrow morn could sway the works.

GO PATS!

Went to Wembley twice. Steelers Vikes was up to expectation, but Niners Jags was, dare I say it, down to expectations. I think I agree with the Channel 4 pundits that Jags are puting themselves in a great position for the next few years, though I won't be joining any supporters' group that calls itself the "Union Jax". I get the impression that the NFL just doesn't understand British politics. Why do you think I stopped supporting the Monarchs when they ceased being the London Monarchs, though by then I had the Claymores to support.

The Jets are a team to watch.

Yeah So far the AFC east is one of if not the strongest divisions. If this keeps up, you will have some great rivalry games to watch.

Panthers first win.   rather decisive. Felt bad about losing to the Bills even with 4 starting secondary hurt last week. But the Bills are good!

Yes to all. I have been watching Brady play for 13 years and, tho I have see him become annoyed and even appear to talk sternly at times, I have never seen him become emotional... strike that... pissed off! When Dobson cut into coverage rather than exploiting a wide open end zone I was shocked but not as shocked as I was at Brady's reaction. The only good thing that can come from that move is learning (really quick like if he wants to get back off the bench) from his mistakes. The kid is good but he appears to lack field vision... nerves? Of course, flat out dropping three in a row after being hit in the hands each time is unaccepatable.

The Jets Dline was was as you say but I also was surprised at the Oline taking the press from the Pats. Just what they did with Wilfork alone took me aback. That lad can stuff plays just by falling forward. Add his surprising quickness off the ball and his agility and they stood him up as often as they did? The Jets are a team to watch.

Jets front 7 was a thing of beauty stuffing Ridley like that.

Geno is going to be good I think!

All those injuries and the Hernandez fiasco, Ridley did squat and the Pats still had a passing game. That Brady chap must be pretty good :-)

Any NFL QB can pass to players like Gronk, Wes and Danny A. But he had to pass 4 to Dobson for every catch. :-)

The Falcons have four very close and heated games this year. 2 with the Saints 2 with the Panthers. Maybe 2 with Tampa Bay. They know each other, they hate each other, the games can go either way, like with the Pats and Steelers of the past or the Pats and Ravens. Except if we are lucky we will see the Pats play their big rivals every year or so. in a strong division big rivals, Giants & Cowboys, Cowboys & Redskins Redskins and Giants, This year, maybe Eagles, play 2 times a year.

Tell me you are not looking forward to 49ers v SeaHawks next week. and to the next matchup in Candlestick later in the year.

This does not diminish the Pats in the playoffs, in fact it means that the Pats have a much easier path to the playoffs with less likelihood of injuries. But the regular season is more exciting in a strong division. In my opinion.

I am not sure if that matters to a team, JtS. I mean, they gotta be the best to beat the best and they gotta beat the best to be the best they gotta do just that no matter what division they are in. Your logic hasn't stopped the coaching staff of the Pats in past years.

You have a pretty good team to watch there in Atlanta. With excellent divisional rivals.

That is one thing the Pats lack, a strong division.

Most exciting for me is still Brady. Yeah, I am biased and, yeah, its not really true but when he throws laser fast strikes like that first TD in his 14th year!? I am just thrilled. Kaepernick is a joy... the execution of passing motion is poetry. To me, it's like when Elway started to dazzle me with his amazing arm. I could comment on many, I am sure, if I had the money to sign up for the NFL Sunday Ticket cable TV package.

I was pissed! I was told by TV Guide I would get to watch SEA and CAR on the little screen whilst watching the Pats game. Not so.

I have one more game to come out for a big payoff... yeah, I bet a tie on the Pats on accounta I had coin ta spare after Welker totally fucked up the Ravens secondary >;-D. Over ten points, 2:1 on one wager. Of course, I made the same bet combination for a Pats win and for a Bill's win at a low amount which covered the crazy tie bet. No matter how it turns out, I will enjoy watching Rodgers and Kaepernick and the rest in the next game with Williams on the small screen at the same time. I absolutely love watching Kaepernick chuck a ball... amazing release!

Q... ? If ya don't like football, why do you watch it or post about it?

Are you ready for some FOOOOTT BAAAALL????

What and awesome season we have coming!!

49er fans fans gotta be pumped!!

Ans Seattle, Look at all the great young QBs!! Ryan, Dalton, Stafford, Newton, the half dozen new ones from last year.

I am really pumped about The Panthers front seven. I love the Big men and our seven are among the best!. They are mauling the Seahawk line so far today! Cam seems to be growing up a little but is still a bit of a hot dog. Why doesn't Brady have an off season QB demeanor camp?

Then there are the vets! Brees, the Mannings (how good was Peyton Thursday?) and of course Tom Brady. I'm sure I left someone out. But not Flacco. IMHO overrated and overpaid.

Who are y'all excited about?

THAT was fun! I owe Welker a thank you note. I'd send him a small token of appreciation from my winnings but I figger he's flush eh?

I have taken the Pats jersey out of the bedchest and hung it in the hallway closet. My huge football slippers are in front of the rocker. The Pats welcome mat is in front of the back door. Got the beer chilled and the mug is in the freezer. Headin out fer snacks in an hour. Made the chili last night and it's in the fridge awaiting the slow cooker which is on the counter. Cold and wet here so I won't feel guilty about neglecting yard work.

I AM ready for some football!

GO PATS!
