At the end of the month we will be off to Greece to see if the mythical island of Dendros is still there- we have been told by early Summer visitors that it has emerged from the mists again. This is probably why our real postcards from last September only arrived in the UK in May.
Dear KatLaFrance was the most loyal and appreciative of the readers of my ramblings from Greece and in recent trips I've often thought "Kat would be amusedby/interested in this". I'm not sure whether I'll have the heart to post another virtual postcard unless there is a real audience left. I may feel differently when I get there and the Metaxas kicks in.

I also enjoy your postcards, being a big fan of Greece. Is it your ambition to visit all of the Greek islands? How many have you been to now?

I see from re-reading some of my past Postcards that I have overestimated the number of islands. Put it down to faulty maths, mis-typing or too much ouzo! We first went to Greece in 1982 and visited 3 islands and Athens. Our total over 31 years is 31 islands stayed on in 41 holidays. One island 11 time with no. 12 coming up, and three twice. We hope to keep adding new islands but as one authority claims there are 777, with over 200 inhabited, I don't know how many more we can get to before travel insurance becomes too expensive because of our (well, my) age and how long I will be fit enough to drag cases on and off ferries.
Also looking at past postcards I see I repeat myself quite a lot. When you've been somewhere 11 or 12 times, it is difficult to find something new to write about but we'll see. Usually something amusing or bizarre happens.

I love your postcards Roger, please continue. Billy and I have had wonderful island holidays in Greece in the past but with mum living with us are unable to go there now so your "ramblings" are the next best thing to being there ourselves.
