I'm not the most regular 'catter out here, but I do always come back. One fellow 'catter whose name I haven't seen in quite some time is harpgirl. Are you out there?

Harpgirl's in Tallahassee. It's very difficult to get a dependable Internet connection in Tallahassee nowadays due to severe static from radiation bounced off of Florida governor Rick Scott's extremely shiny bald head. The only time Tallahassee residents can get online is when Scott's out of town.

Harpy is alive and well, taking wonderful photographs of the flora and fauna of northern Florida and posting them to the delight of others on facebook, tending to her father and making music, lurking here and posting when she is so moved to do so. Doing her positive best to take good care of herself and others in these challenging times, as best I can discern.

FB ahs shown many of us a side(s) of the Harpster we were not familiar with, photography being one. Like others, I love her stuff even if she is from the state up north. Her Dad has a great life story and qualifies as a cool guy........

HG, I grew up in New York, not Michigan. My classmate's name was (still is) North Peterson. The author of the Rev. Gary Davis book has been in touch with him.

I'm still here, mostly on FB and taking care of my dad, still. He is 92 and a half. Mother died in 2012. I took care of her as well.Today I am looking for song lyrics. I still work two days a week. Things will change when dad dies but that might be a long time from now. I stay in the present and don't think about what I can't do. I haven't been out of town for a long, long time.... I keep up with folks on FB. I'm still playing music, gardening, taking photos, riding my bike, and trying to stay out of trouble with my mouth.....the losses on Mudcat really got to me...arf arf love you all (what's left of you)....harpy

No Florida Folk Festivals lately, harpy? I really enjoyed that one I attended with you, and I still have the T-shirt you bought me. I think that was in 2001, just before I got married. You said the T-shirt was a wedding present.

I see it's Kendall's birthday. He's older than dirt! Happy Birthday, old man of the sea.

I haven't been to the Florida Folk Festival in a bunch of years, Joe. Dad is a full time job. I just can't bear the idea of putting him in nursing care or assisted living, which he is kinda beyond now. This year Arlo Guthrie is the headliner on Saturday night. It should be a great show. I am planning on trying to find respite for dad so I can go. That will be May 28th, Saturday night in White Springs, Fla.

Your tie dye shirt was from tie dye Mark Wright, wasn't it? Mark died in 2007 and I probated his estate and found his family. It was a challenge since he had money in five banks and his will was scratched on some paper. He left 43k to the Friends of Florida Folk and I gave his mother the rest of the money I could find.The tow truck driver was a crook and he managed to get Mark's truck, camper and various other items. Mark left quite a legacy. I still miss him. The FFF brings bittersweet memories of my friends who have passed.   

I have been following all the young folk singers lately. I love Tallahassee's New 76er's, and May Erlewine and Seth Bernard. I love Red Molly. Maybe I'll start a thread about the youngsters taking up the cause.
