Subject: RE: Review: Book reviewers? From: dick greenhaus Date: 13 Aug 13 - 07:55 PM From sad experience, I can confidently state that getting reviews for a book on folklore is a wearying process. Be prepared to send out a bunch of free copies to magazines, then be prepared to wait, and to make lots of follow-up phone calls and E-mails. I've had to wait over a year for a review of a book that both the reviewer and I felt was an important work. |

From: GUEST Date: 14 Aug 13 - 12:04 PM QUOTE Is there anyone on Mudcat w/ a track record reviewing books in print or online publications? /QUOTE Unless the reviewer is know to the editor an unsolicited review will most likely be spiked. Editors will never guarantee that all items submitted will be reviewed (most of the postbag is off topic crap anyway) or that space will be available to print all the reviews written. |
