Here's Archie's schedule as posted at Robyn Boyd's Wooden Ship Productions website. Looks like quite a few good possibilities, though none near me. Note that Robyn seems to be working on a projected 2014 tour for Archie and his old friend Garnet Rodgers- what a treat that will be!

Ooo, I see three possibilities. Well, maybe two because I'll probably have a conflict on one that's a Saturday night. It may come down to prices.

What, the closest to the DC area is Delaware?    Has the FSGW let us down, or are we just not in Archie's network for some reason?

Ron, contact Robyn at Wooden Ship Productions (link in first post). If there are no options for this tour, it would be smart to start now to book Archie and Garnet next year. Perhaps you could suggest a couple of favorite venues- ask them to contact Wooden Ship as well.

Musicians and bands from out of the US have to book far in advance and many musicians try to vary the tour routes from year to year. Archie isn't coming to Maine this time- I'm aiming for next year.

Ron, I talked at some length with Archie about a D.C. gig when I saw him at Old Songs. Not sure if FSGW is the best sponsor, though. Let's just find a way to make sure he gets down here. My preference would be to try to get him here for a solo gig, since his last performance for FSGW was with Garnet. On the other hand, fall 2013 is awfully soon. Both IMT and FSGW have their lineups pretty well set.

Maybe if we wait until next year, Archie's long-awaited new solo CD will be done. Now THAT would be worth waiting for! At any rate, it's wonderful that Archie is making more-or-less regular appearances on these shores after a too-long absence!

Good observations, Kath (and hi!)

He has long promised to do house concerts at our place and in South Portland here in Maine, but international tours must start, at least, looking at the necessary earnings to make said tour viable. We may not be in the needed level of income, and I understand that whether I like it or not.

Archie's return to the States is due mostly to his finding knowledgeable people to not only do bookings and plan sensible tours, but also to handle proper paperwork for the right visa at the correct time, etc. Remember- in addition to Archie's venue preferences and suggestions, there are agents (yes, more than one) who are making their best decisions in putting together each tour.

I'd never want a return to the insanely ricocheted tours he used to endure, even if it means I don't get to see an old friend. I suggest again that interested parties talk with Robyn regarding booking possibilities...now rather than next week or month or...

Looks like I'd better call for my ticket to the Blackstone River Theatre. last time I checked that website, the ticket price had not been posted. Now it has been, and it's very reasonable especially for those who reserve in advance.

Hope Concert Window shows him at Club Passim. If he's not playing South Portland, he's certainly not playing the middle of Nowhere, Georgia.

Yes, Passim's is October 6 (Schedule above.)

As for getting Archie to Georgia, Maine, Timbuktu- The route changes from tour to tour and from year to year. Contact Robyn at Wooden Ship Productions (link in first post) with venue suggestions. It might have more impact if you can suggest several places that might reasonably make up part of a logical travel loop.

If there are no options for this tour, it would be smart to start now to book Archie and Garnet next year. Perhaps you could contact a couple or three favorite venues- ask them to contact Wooden Ship as well.

Maeve, I think Elmore was hoping it's streamed on the internet via Concert Window. I watched a show the streamed once, and thought it was well worth the "admission".

I just checked Concert Window, and I don't see it, but Passim doesn't have October listed yet, so there might be a chance.

Jeri: Concert Window won't give out its entire October schedule until the end of September, and yes, that's what I'm hoping. Regards, Elmore.

Good news for me, and anyone else who lives in the middle of Nowhere. Archie Fisher's concert at Club Passim in Cambridge, Ma. at 8 p.m. est on Tuesday Oct 8 will be available live online from Concert Window.

Well, FSGW can certainly wait til next year.   But I sure hope FSGW gets enough advance notice of his schedule next year so we can get him for an FSGW concert. I definitely agree a solo concert would be the best.

But I can't imagine anybody else being preferable on an FSGW schedule.

It would be a love fest.    I'm pretty sure I recall a concert by him several eons ago--but never since.    It would no doubt be sold out overnight.

I;ll never forget the first time I saw Archie perform at a short lived room called 'The Winds of Change' in Gloucester, Massachusetts. I wasn't familiar with his work at the time and was charmed with the beauty of his voice and songs. It was magical.

Kath, Ron, and others- I hope FSGW members don't mind- I've alerted Robyn of Wooden Ship Productions that there is a strong interest expressed here regarding an Archie Fisher appearance in their area. She is inquiring. That's all the involvement I will have, but those of you who have waxed poetic on the subject might want to make contact with FSGW in a couple of weeks to express your strong interest. I don't know whether all appearances in April 2014 will be both Archie and Garnet or whether there will be some solos- either way there will be some mighty good music swirling around.

Good luck.

I did get my ticket to see Archie in RI. I know Janet In CT has sent out emails about her house concert.

I've seen Archie solo and Garnet solo and I've seen them together. They are both great in any configuration.

Thanks, Maeve.

I'll also contact the FSGW person in charge of concerts and encourage others to do the same.
