Subject: RE: Rolf Harris - sex abuse charges From: Big Al Whittle Date: 01 Sep 13 - 04:49 PM Eliza you was asking for it -bending over in that cyber mini skirt. I was never keen on Rolf. The younger generation whistling I was Kaiser Bills batman, Those bloody awful pictures - can you see what it is yet?, his bloody wobble board..... Still I'm sorry he's in trouble in his 80's. Its not like he was a Nazi war criminal...... How does the law work....could they charge you with a traffic offence you committed forty years ago. One night all the students I shared a flat with got stoned and pinched all the policemen;s bikes from outside the police station and dumped them over the town bridge into a very shallow river.......could I still be done as an accessory after the fact? nearly fifty years later. Too weird.... |
Subject: RE: Rolf Harris - sex abuse charges From: Big Al Whittle Date: 01 Sep 13 - 04:53 PM Another thing about him... Have you noticed that nothing rhymes with Rolf? Just Golf....Schnolf which makes writing a song about him difficult |
Subject: RE: Rolf Harris - sex abuse charges From: GUEST,Doc John Date: 01 Sep 13 - 05:00 PM Lizzie Cornish - It's good to hear some common sense (getting rarer)in these days of the overgrowth of the child protection industry. Let's get it into proportion: remember Victoria Clambie and remember Sally Clark too. |
Subject: RE: Rolf Harris - sex abuse charges From: GUEST,Eliza Date: 02 Sep 13 - 06:30 AM Al, I can hardly 'bend over' these days, my joints won't take it! And there isn't a mini-skirt made that would go round my large girth. But in the Cyber World, one can always fantasise I suppose! I think Rolf Harris's entertainment success has to be seen in the light of the times. In those days, people were thrilled by his talent and his songs were definitely catchy. I used to get my class of 8yr-olds singing 'The Court of King Caractacus' and the 'Five Young Apprentices'; they absolutely loved it. And even now I like 'Nick O'Teen and Al K Hall' and 'I've Lost My Mummy'. As to people bringing charges decades after the alleged offences took place; I think personally it should happen. Memories of abuse probably damage one for life, and the alleged victims have a right to justice. The CPS are usually very stringent in deciding which cases go to court, so I imagine they feel it's worth while pursuing. I do so hope it's not true, as he was much loved back then by nearly the whole nation. Time will tell. |
Subject: RE: Rolf Harris - sex abuse charges From: Lizzie Cornish 1 Date: 02 Sep 13 - 06:43 AM As far as I can tell, Rolf's Facebook page has now been taken down, thank God..for the perverts and foul ones were all over it in the most shocking display of hatred and vileness I've ever seen. It has deeply upset me that he's been put through this when those who have accused him remain utterly anonymous and safe.... I can't tell you what some of those people were saying, but I was ready to go down to my local police station this morning, as the Met had advised me to do, and beg them to help get this stopped... Thank goodness that's not needed. I dread to think of the kind of sick, violent people who will be searching his house out, though...sending him hateful things in the post etc... Operation Yewtree has ruined the lives of many...some of whom WILL be innocent men...whilst Savile, the main offender, is buried standing up, in his golden coffin, free of everything he did.... |
Subject: RE: Rolf Harris - sex abuse charges From: Big Al Whittle Date: 02 Sep 13 - 07:32 AM oh Eliiza - there you go again - inflaming my passionate nature. I'm sure you realise that theres nowt us northern lads like more than big lass. Reet gradely! Lizzie - you get too worked up. People are just people. I'm sure we're not all as bad as you think we are. There are probably things that matter to the people you castigate - that they are as sensitive to them, as you are sensitive to the issues that bother you. The thing is that you may be able to sustain this level of emnity - but consider - some of the people you rail at might be vulnerable - physically or emotionally. |
Subject: RE: Rolf Harris - sex abuse charges From: The Sandman Date: 02 Sep 13 - 03:02 PM rolf harris has yet to be convicted of any wrong doing. Dave Polshaw, please give the attacks on lizzie cornish a rest, it is extremely boring, on the occasions I have met you,you seemed like a pleasnt person, which i am sure you are, you are not doing yourself justice by persisting with this childish behaviour |
Subject: RE: Rolf Harris - sex abuse charges From: gnu Date: 02 Sep 13 - 04:37 PM Big Al... hahahahahaaaa! As usual. Gandolf? Although, I don't know how one would work that into a song. Sexual Harrisment is a serious thing but if it includes alligators so old they don't have teeth, I don't buy it. |
Subject: RE: Rolf Harris - sex abuse charges From: Dave the Gnome Date: 02 Sep 13 - 04:38 PM OK, Dick. So you have totally ignored my request to review the data. Why should I take you up on your suggestion? Do you believe you can bully me into submission by bluster while saying you cannot stand bullying? Do you not find that in the slightest bit ironic? How about this instead. Find any specific attacks, that are not in response to prior incidents, and I will happily explain them. What is more, if anyone believes I am either cowardly and post under different names for anonymity please show me where and I will prove otherwise. What is more I am happy to do so in private, public, on the forum, on any other forum, on the phone or in person. Does that sound fair to you? Cheers DtG
Lizzie leads with her chin and the rest of you lot come out swinging. This is conduct unbecoming Mudcat, even if it has been typical. Look at this mess and then ask yourselves "why all the good ones have left." You've said it yourselves many times. Well here is why. |
