Hi! Many years ago, I heard a song called Wheels, which was basically the vocal version of The String-A-Longs' instrumental Wheels. The only part of the song that I can remember goes like this:
All aboard, the honeymoon train is here
All aboard, the honeymoon train is here
Listen to the music of the wheels.

Does anybody out there remember the song?

Also, while we're at it. Down Yonder (the tune by Del Woods) was a song, but as usual, I don't remember who sang it. All that I can remember of that song is:

Down yonder someone is waiting for me
la la la and the Robert E. Lee

Help!

Down Yonder lyrics

I've never heard any lyrics to "Wheels." I vaguely remember the pop recording but never gave the song any thought till I heard Sam McGee play it on the Opry in the late 60s.

Wikipedia says, "Johnny Duncan released a vocal version [of WHEELS] with lyrics by Johnny Flamingo in 1963."

The recording at YouTube is identified only as "Rare Vintage 1960's Vocal Version!" but I suspect it is the Duncan version. This is my transcription:

WHEELS

All aboard! The honeymoon express is leavin'.
All aboard! You're starry-eyed with love-light gleamin'.
All aboard! And while you dream the dreams you're dreamin',
Listen to the music of love's wheels.

Round and round, love's wheels go round and bells start dingin'.
Hear the sound, the song of love your heart will sing when
Heaven bound, and happy, happy love is swingin'.
Listen to the music of love's wheels.

Together (together), forever (forever),
Love never (love never), ever ending (ever ending),
Together (together), forever (forever),
And never (and never) to part.

Round the bend, our cottage small with neighbors grinnin',
Journeys end, but ev'rything is just beginnin'.
Just pretend love's happy little wheels are spinnin'.
Listen to the music of love's wheels.

Together, forever,
Love never, ever ending,
Together, forever,
And never to part.

Round the bend, our cottage small with neighbors grinnin',
Journeys end, but ev'rything is just beginnin'.
Just pretend love's happy little wheels are spinnin'.
Listen to the music of love's wheels.
Listen to the music of love's wheels.

(Love's wheels go round and round and round.)
(Love's wheels go round and round and round.)...REPEAT AND FADE.

This song popped into my head today.

My take on the lyrics (probably distorted by time):

All aboard, the Honeymoon express is leaving
All aboard, you starry-eyed young lovers dreaming
All aboard, and while you dream the dreams you're dreaming
Listen to the music of love's wheels.

'Round the bend, a cottage small with neighbours singing
Journey's end, but everything is just beginning
Let's pretend, those happy little wheels are spinning
Listen to the music of love's wheels

Together, forever, love never, ever ending
Together, forever, love never, to part.
