The Acoustasonic Jr. DSP: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/AcoustaSJDSP Anyone have any experience with this? It's been discontinued. The one I'm looking at is like new. |
Subject: RE: Fender Acoustasonic Amps - any info? From: Big Al Whittle Date: 03 Sep 13 - 09:57 PM Well i've had three acoustasonics. I love them! They beat any other acoustic amp hands down and I've owned most of them - AERs Carlsboros, Marshall. Depends a lot what you do which one to get. De[ends on your use for it. For what its worth - I'd say get one of the new generation. I play in noisy pubs - or at any rate I used to. Shitloads of power and I paid less than £320 for it - - !50 watts. The sound isn't as good as the old SFX but its as heavy as washing machine. The new ones are a mere 20lbs. If you have quiet audiences you will find DSP adequate. I saw Tristan Seune play Eric Roche's memorial concert with one in the small theatre in Sleaford. But the new ones are lighter and have more power. I love them! I play the SFX at home. But I gig with one of the new ones. |

I've used it for both acoustic and electric guitars (when I've wanted a really clean electric sound), and even sang through it in a pinch. The only acoustic amp I've ever played through which sounded appreciably better was an SWR California Blonde, which costs three times as much. |
