Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Now all the woods are waking, the sun is From: Jim Dixon Date: 05 Sep 13 - 12:14 PM NOW ALL THE WOODS ARE WAKING is a round. There are no more lyrics beyond what you posted. It is on the children's album "My Best Friend : Songs to Grow On" by Lisa Monet. You can hear it on Spotify. Also, it's in at least one songbook: Round the World : Teaching Harmony with Multicultural Rounds and Canons by Cheryl Lavender (Milwaukee, WI : Hal Leonard Corporation, 2012) You can see the music notation in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ijQgz1kIE8. There is an MP3 file on this page, of some adults singing the round. If you want more information, try Googling: https://www.google.com/search?q=%22Now+all+the+woods+are+waking%22 |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Now all the woods are waking, the sun is From: GUEST,Grishka Date: 05 Sep 13 - 03:16 PM Children should not be taught such nonsense that dew can become dry, for the sole reason that the lyricist could not think of a rhyme for "evaporated", such as: Now, kids, don't be belated, the dew's evaporated, the nightingale has mated, but oops! that is X-rated! |

I have made MIDI's of the round, melody and three-part, and I've sent them to Joe for posting here. Then if somebody makes an ABC of the MIDI's, we'll have both history, lyrics and music for this charming round. |

Subject: Tune Add: NOW ALL THE WOODS ARE WAKING (round) From: GUEST,Grishka Date: 06 Sep 13 - 07:05 AM At first googling I got the impression that Lisa Monet was the author, which would make her a shameless epigon. At a second glance however, I realized that the round is declared traditional, which makes Lisa Monet a shameless self-promoter but grants some licence to the lyrics and composition. Here is the ABC: X:1 T:Now All the Woods are Waking C:Trad. eight-part round M:4/4 L:1/4 K:D A,| D D E "^2." E | F2 G "^3." G | A d c "^4."
