Sheffield Sessions?

My wife and I are going to be in the Sheffield area around the 5th/6th (sat/sun) of October and were wondering about any sessions that might be going on . We play fiddle and box to a reasonable standard and are usually fairly well behaved!

First Sunday pm at Fernandes Tap in Wakefield! from 1.30pm if you get stuck

Sheffield has a number of folkie pubs, Sat night probably in Fagan's for a safe bet!

Many thanks for the responses. We'll hopefully get along to the Kelham Island Tavern as at the very least my wife (used to live in Sheffield} says the beer is excellent.

A singer I met this afternoon (at Tod FF) was enthusing about a Saturday afternoon song session at Fagan's in Sheffield. I've googled like mad, but can't find any details of this on the Interweb - Fagan's seems to have sessions of one sort or another five nights a week, but no reference to anything on a Saturday afternoon.

Can anyone supply more details? Or have I broken the first rule of Fagan's Saturday afternoon session?

Fagan's hosts a lot of sessions (every night except Thurs and Sunday). I've not heard of one on a Sat afternoon - but that's not to say there isn't.

Shaun Hutch runs the Fagan's Saturday afternoon session, not every week I will check the frequency

So, The Fates on twitter (@fates_uk) say that it is "every 2nd Saturday, 2pm to 6pm. there's one this Sat. Mostly songs and some tunes"

I'm guessing that as "this Saturday" =23rd April, the "every 2nd Saturday" might be interpreted as "alternating".
Daresay some mudcatter will clarify if they plan to go.

I did ask Shaun Hutch on fb who gave the thumbs up but failed to clarify frequency I would certainly agree that this Saturday pm will be the Fagan's session in Sheffield

Fagan's has music sessions all week at night with different accents and "runners" of said sessions ~ Irish theme but English too

Thanks all. Evening sessions in Sheffield are a bit difficult, but a weekend afternoon could be doable - just as long as I didn't end up stuck on a rail replacement bus, as I was last weekend coming back from Todmorden.
