Bit late this thread but nevertheless, for the benefit of all South Yorkshire folkies, Kiveton Park Folk Club is hosting an evening with the brilliant Mick Ryan and Paul Downes tomorrow, Tuesday 10th September.
Mick is a fine singer, well known as a performer of traditional and original songs, many of which have become standards throughout the UK folk scene. Accompanied by Paul Downes, one of the most respected instrumentalists on the accoustic scene, this duo will provide a first class performance of great songs and music. Kick-off around 8:30, cheapish bar, free grub in the break and a load of nice folks to make you welcome. All invited. Door charge £7.00.

Paul Downes has a new CD out on the Wildgoose Records label, 'The Boatman's Curse' WGS396CD, ans another new one on the same label is Mick Ryan & Paul Downes, 'When Every Song Was New' WGS393. I recommend both, and if you're in the area, go see them live. Hello everyone at K Park club. RoY.
