In the beer tent on Sunday an unofficial singaround had formed round the Teacups (seemed to take them by surprise, but that's what you get at Bromyard). One sang a song that my husband remembers from 70yrs ago and I had never heard about a chap with a funny foreign name who met a señorita who gave him a disgusting disease which a quack cured - after which he was not the man he used to be.
It had the feel of a Frank Crummit song, but I can't find it and don't remember enough of the lyrics to search.
Any ideas?

Thanks Trevor, it was very similar to one of the versions in that thread. I think there was a John Thomas in there somewhere.

What disgusting songs the youth of today do sing. I don't think my husband could have understood it, all those years ago - unless it was cleaned up for the wireless.

I suppose, if you're on Facebook, you could enquire about the song on the Teacups'
FB page! We've got James Findlay booked at the Herga club on 7th October, so I'll try and remember to mention it to him!
