Fritz Richmond, who played Washtub bass in the Jim Kweskin Jug Band was a master of the washtub bass. I can't find much of his playing on Youtube, but here's a sample solo part way through this Tom Rush song.   Fritz Richmond & Tom Rush

This was recorded in the sixties, when politically incorrect lyrics were more common.
