Subject: Ian Campbell in Asc ot Oct 2013 From: Roger the Skiffler Date: 27 Sep 13 - 05:42 AM One I will unfortunately miss as I'll be away celebrating my 70th birthday but the great survivor, Ian Campbell, (HERE) will be appearing at Jagz, Ascot on 31st October. Since his car accident he has retrained himself to play one-handed. Piece of trivia: when I bought the CD resissue of his Levee Camp Moan it included the facsimile poster of a gig they played in the 1960s at a pub (long demolished) in the road I've lived in since the 1980s! Don't forget, Dave Kelly, solo, same venue 17th October, Ben Waters 7th November and Sonny Black's Old Time String Band on 14th November. Sonny is also supporting Catfish Keith in Reading (South Street) on 17th October). RtS |

Subject: RE: Ian Campbell in Asc ot Oct 2013 From: Roger the Skiffler Date: 09 Apr 14 - 07:21 AM Ian returned to Jagz in Ascot last night and I was able to see him. Though paralysed down his left side and with no left peripheral vision he has mastered one-hand playing a Strat braced on a table, great stuff. He was backed by George Calvert on bass and later Colin Paterson, who with keyboard player Simon Spratley and Ray Phillips on vocals, were all in Nashville Teens at some time. Yes, they DID finish with Tobacco Road. Goodish crowd there and he got a great reception. RtS |
