Subject: The Purple Onion, Copenhagen 1970s From: GUEST,Lin - guest Date: 14 Oct 13 - 03:09 AM In the early 1970s' I visited Copenhagen, Denmark with my parents. I remember finding this place one night in the city center called The Purple Onion. It was a folk music club when I was there. Just a small folk club or coffeehouse but I don't really remember too much about it; how long it was there, etc. I was just a young girl in my teens but already liked folk music and found this club one night when my parent's and I were walking around looking at the shops. Then I went back the next night and heard some good folk singers (not known singers.) I would love to hear about anyone that remembers this place and whatever information you may have about it. The name of the place really stood out because I never liked onions so the name, The Purple Onion (folk club) has stayed in my memory. I remember when I first went into the club I was hoping I wouldn't be smelling any onions. :-))) |
