Subject: RE: 1913 Lockout Commerative Walk Dublin From: Matthew Edwards Date: 16 Oct 13 - 09:00 AM Also; in Liverpool on Sunday 20 October 2013 there will be an afternoon of talks and discussions (but no songs, I think) about the 1913 Dublin Lockout, and the role played by Jim Larkin who was himself from Liverpool. This is part of the Liverpool Irish Festival, and tickets at £5 for this event are very limited. Francy Devine who researched the walk around Dublin for the Frank Harte Weekend so well will be one of the speakers. Unfortunately I can't make it, but it looks very interesting. Matthew |
Subject: RE: 1913 Lockout Commerative Walk Dublin From: GUEST,Fred McCormick Date: 16 Oct 13 - 09:18 AM As Matthew said, booking is advisable for this one. Ring 0151 702 5324 for the box office. I'll be there and, for anyone interested in Irish labour history, I'd say it's an absolute must. Also, tonight at the Casa, Hope St., L1 9BQ, Radical Liverpool are hosting an evening of songs, stories and humour of the Liverpool of Jim, Delia and Peter Larkin. That starts at 8pm. Free admission. |
