Subject: Teaching bob a needle -need advice

Hi,
I'm an elementary music teacher who has been trying to teach her second graders how to play Bob a Needle and having difficulty. Does anyone have any good ideas on how to explain this song and game to children who are not familiar with it? I'm trying to do the call and response version and in general they seem to have difficulty understanding what they are supposed to do/when they sing/etc. Any advice on ways to teach this in a clear fashion would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Songbird

Songbird, have you used the Filter on the homepage to search for this? I found an earlier Mudcat thread with some of what you need using the Filter:
Origins: Bob-a-needle

I read the directions and couldn't understand them myself. I don't think this is a good game for second graders.
