Drat. I've got this song stuck in my mind this evening but I only remember a fragment from the days when it was a new 78 rpm record and I was a wee child. It was recorded by both Johnny Mercer and Doris Day.

Here is what I remember. It was sung in a smarmy fake Mexican accent on our record.

I don't like men,
Women I don't like too,
Do I like anyone? I don't, don't, dont
But I Do, Do, Do Like You

I don't like milk,
Spinach I don't like too
I don't like anything that's good for me
But I Do, Do, Do Like You

Can anyone help out?

Found it! I remember it too. It is a calypso.
Words and music by Allie Wrubel, ASCAP, sheet music at:
www.danmansmusic.com/members/notation/pdf/28675x.pdf

I found it by using "But I do do do like you." Nor complete, but a start.

The sheet music gives the dialect pronunciations (milk = meelk) and guitar chords.

I DO DO DO LIKE YOU
Words and music by Allie Wrubel, ©1947.
As sung by Johnny Mercer

I don't like men; women I don't like too.
Do I like anyone? I don't, don't, don't, but I do, do, do like you.

I don't like milk; spinach I don't like too.
I don't like anything that's good for me, but I do, do, do like you.

Am I mad? No!
Just my attitude has always been very unconventional.
Do I care? No!
If you think I am strange, it is intentional.

I don't like men; women I don't like too.
I think that I don't even like myself?maybe silly, but it's true.
Baby, you're the one exception; I do, do, do like you.

Millions of years ago (1950s and/or 60s), there was a US TV show that used the first line of this song as part of its opening credits.

I can't remember what the show was. Anyone?

I think it was a character named "Cha Cha" on show called "Route 66" or "77 Sunset strip."

I believe it was a TV show called "Surfside Six" with a female character called Cricket and another called Cha Cha O'Brien.
